Dr. Sudhanshu Sharma

Sudhanshu Sharma obtained his B.Sc. degree (1999) from CCS University Meerut and his M.Sc from IIT Roorkee in 2003. He received his Ph.D from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2009. He did his first postdoc from University of California Santa Barbara between 2009 to 2011 and second post-doc from Arizona State University USA from the period 0f 2011 to 2012. He is an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry at IIT Gandhinagar.

Research Interests

Synthesis and catalytic properties of the oxidic materials. I envision developing cost effective materials which can serve the energy need of the society and environment. Water purification, bio fuel production, organic catalysis using inorganic aluminosilicates and their other analogs. Electrocatalysis, for reducing CO2 to make methanol and other useful products. Developing coating technology for the catalytic oxide materials to use in catalytic conversion, separations, filtering etc. As per my expertise I am an experimentalist but I have worked in close vicinity of theory groups on some collaborative projects.
